BMW 3.0 150kW/204HP engine has electronically actuated swirl flaps. In case of failure of this actuator, engine runs in reduced power mode (limp home). Pierburg made OEM actuator is expensive, as the dealer only sells it together with intake manifold. In addition, some owners remove the flaps to prevent engine damage - this is a well known issue.
This emulator is plug and play type- no additional setup is required.
Typical fault codes are:
4152 DDE: swirl flaps, activation
410c DDE: swirl-flap actuator
4857 DDE: swirl-flap actuator
4867 DDE: swirl-flap actuator
